Fira is the capital of Santorini island, situated on the west coast of the island and built at an altitude of 300meters above the sea. The town is located 10km away from Athinios main port and 5km from the Santorini International Airport. Uniquely beautiful, the town of Fira amazes the visitor, in every corner, every blossomed windowsill, every garden and every white house. From the preserved Venetian settlement of Frangomahalas, one of the most beautiful areas in Fira, to the impressive Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, decorated with unique mural painting. From Theotokopoulos Square to the Catholic Cathedral dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. And from Bellonias Cultural Foundation to Gyzis Mansion, a 17th-century old family mansion of unique architectural flair.

Two also significant stops which will show you the long history and heritage of the island, are the Museum of Prehistoric Thira with findings from the excavations at Akrotiri, as well as Neolithic ceramics- early Cycladic marble figurines, Cycladic pottery and early Cycladic metal artefacts - as well as the Archaeological museum in the center of Fira, hosting Sculpture from the Archaic to the Roman period and vases & clay figurines, dating from the Geometric to the Hellenistic periods. In walking distance from Fira White Residence, there are several restaurants, cafés, bars and supermarkets. The village of Oia, with its popular sunset, is roughly 9km away.
